Facebook AI Research
Viswanath Sivakumar a Researcher at Facebook AI Research working on machine learning for systems where he is currently exploring reinforcement learning to improve the performance of computer networks. Prior to that, he was part of Facebook AI Applied Computer Vision Research group where he founded and lead the Rosetta project — a large-scale machine learning system for understanding text in images and videos. He had also made extensive improvements to the low-level performance and efficiency of Computer Vision models in production. He spent his first few years at Facebook working on our distributed BLOB storage infrastructure, and then on the traffic infrastructure team working on Proxygen, an open-source reverse proxy. He was also one of the early infrastructure engineers on Facebook Live video-streaming.
