Bio:

Silky Arora tech-leads the Anti-Abuse team at WhatsApp that is responsible for building machine learning models to detect harmful actors in an end to end encrypted world. She founded, led and grew the team to successfully operationalize their efforts to detect and enforce against child abuse, terrorism, sextortion etc.

As one of the first few engineers who joined WhatsApp right after its acquisition, she led the efforts to serve WhatsApp traffic from Facebook’s massive CDN. Prior to that, she worked in FB’s blob storage team which is responsible for reliably and efficiently storing and serving billions of user photos and videos.
